RULER is an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning (SEL) developed at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, where Marc Brackett is the founding Director. When we’re over hungry or full of junk food, over or under rested, getting too little physical activity, or lacking social connections or a sense of purpose, we tend to be more irritable and more likely to handle our emotions in unhelpful ways.
